Käärijä is a genre-defying rapper and songwriter from Vantaa, Finland. The experimental rap artist is known for his bowl cut and energetic, shirtless live performances. Käärijä has been releasing music since 2014 and his debut album Fantastista was released in 2020 Käärijä mixes different genres fluently and the artist's love for heavier music (he has a Rammstein tattoo on his chest) as well as his unique sense of humor can be heard in his discography.

Käärijä's Eurovision entry Cha Cha Cha is an epic party metal song that combines elements of rap, electronic music, metal and schlager. The artist wrote the song together with his two friends Aleksi Nurmi and Johannes Naukkarinen. The song is in Finnish and it's about feeling liberated on the dancefloor after a long week. As Käärijä himself says: "It's crazy, it's party!"

Previously an unknown artist to the bigger public, Käärijä was the underdog in the national election Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu but quickly became a fan favourite. The live show showcased ballroom dancers and Käärijä in a neon green bolero. Finland fell in love with the unique performance as well as with Käärijä's fun personality and Cha Cha Cha won by an overwhelming amount of votes. Käärijä was both the jury's and the audience's favourite with 53% of the viewer's votes. In total, Käärijä received 539 points while the runner-up got just 152 points, meaning that Käärijä won by a margin of 387 points. The final reached 2.1 million viewers and broke the record for the most popular Uuden Musilkin Kilpailu.
